About Audra Escalante
Audra Escalante, is a wife and a mother of two boys, 11 and 5. She lives in Ojai, California. She loves birth and feels that being pregnant and giving birth is one of the most important pivotal times in a women's life! Audra has a beautiful array of experiences personally in her pregnancies, ranging from a hospital birth and a home birth, to a natural conception, to in-vitro fertilization (IVF). These experiences give Audra, first hand, a depth of knowledge and the need for the mothers journey, to be fully supported and afforded non judgement as the mothers chooses what is best for her body and her baby.
As a doula...
I will meet with you and ask you questions and get to know who you are and what your personal desires are for your birth. I can help you with your birth plan, narrow down pain management tools, and familiarize myself with your life style and your husband/partner's as well. I will meet for two prenatal visits prior to your birth, and be fully present for your birth, along with one post natal visit after your baby is born. My job as your doula is to be solely focused on the birthing mother, you, and make sure you are taken care of mentally, emotionally, and physically. Be your advocate, and check in with you in labor to make sure you are taken care of and receiving time to give informed consent. You will have an amazing birth, it your right to feel fully empowered and happy while birthing your baby.
Doula training and Certification
Audra Escalante attended an in depth training via BiniBirth.com trained by Ana Flora Arounian, to become a Doula. And is completing certification via DONA International. Audra is also being advised by 45 year plus experienced Mid-Wife, Karni Seymour Brown, located in Ventura County, at Sunrise Birthing Center; Audra also attends a monthly continuing education via Ana Flora Doula support group ,and various Doula support groups, including Dream Doula Village, located in Los Angeles, California.
